In conversation with Dr Naomi Nakayama, who leads the Biological Form and Function Lab within the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College, London, I created an interactive sculpture to be used as a tool in the communication of the environmentally sensitive morphing of the dandelion diaspore.
This phenomenon was recently discovered by the team of scientists which she leads.
