Jewellery for an Ancient Cedar (2025)
A suspended, site-specific work within the canopy of a 271 year old Cedar in the grounds of Boston Manor Park, London.
This colourful, large, dynamic sculpture was held within the branches of a much celebrated ancient cedar of Lebanon in the grounds of this incredibly biodiverse urban park.
The artwork’s form is inspired by living organisms; gigantic such as galaxies, microscopic like bacteria as well as the larval inhabitants of this very tree.
It continues an exploration of the qualities of rope, here in conversation with colourful industrial foam offcuts, pallet strapping and other found and discarded materials.

Dėwaån and Regina Atienza share music and ritual with us as Jewellery for an Ancient Cedar soars above.
When I asked Regina to provide a caption for the above photo she wrote; "Some of you, may know the story of Shel Silverstein's "The Giving Tree". As children of the soil that feeds us, it's important to commune with our tree ancestors, to thank them with magic of music, and honour them with ceremonies and the scent of sacred time."
