Substantial Poetry
A three day masterclass with Oliver in his Leyton studio
A three day masterclass with Oliver in his Leyton studio
This is an in-depth and hands-on 3 day intensive workshop for a small group.
Oliver shares his unique approach to fabrication which has resulted in RA award winning sculptures and Turner Prize shortlisted kinetic art works. Drawing, writing, photography and sculptural prototyping are woven together to illuminate an idea towards a multitude of potential iterations. Oliver’s specialist studio is a well equipped creation space with high quality tooling for working with metal, wood, and plastics. Participants will learn how this equipment can be used safely to collaborate with and communicate through these materials. For decades Oliver has shared his creative methodology through leading Organisations, Arts Colleges, Performing Arts Schools, evening classes and community groups, including; Kingston College of Art, Heart n Soul, Little Angel Theatre, Turtlekey, Central School of Speech and Drama, Central Saint Martins, London College of Fashion, Mountview, WAC, Playstation, Rose Bruford and Curious School of Puppetry. Participants will search for an idea, actively nurture this into being and then prototype it sculpturally. This workshop is suitable for those already specialising in a creative discipline, seeking to further develop and explore their practice. |
"The way you teach and share stories whilst also encouraging energy towards the unknown and the unmade is wonderful."
